PROGRAM: “At All Times Ready: Harpers Ferry and the U.S. Marines.” Anniversary of the John Brown Raid

LOCATION: Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, WV  

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Marine Corps Historical Company, working as a partner with the National Park Service, will again present a program commemorating the Anniversary of the infamous John Brown Raid. After a drastically scaled back program in 2021, the Park is hoping to have us return to a full-scale program in 2022. Planned activities over the two days include exhibits, talks, and demonstrations revolving around the Marine involvement in the John Brown Raid.  The program will not only look at the role of the Marines but also the various points of view of the local citizens, the Virginia and Maryland militias, and Brown and his raiders.
